13 Jul Rooted in Harmony Reggae Music Festival: A New Tradition Begins in California
For more than 5 decades, reggae music has brought people together through messages of unity, resilience, hope, and positive vibrations.
On Saturday, August 15, 2026, that tradition continues as the first annual Rooted in Harmony Reggae Music Festival comes to the Adventist Health Amphitheater in Tulare, California. The festival is an all-ages event, with gates opening at 4:00 PM and music beginning at 5:00 PM.
Presented by Spade Entertainment, Rooted in Harmony brings together an exciting lineup that bridges generations of reggae music while celebrating the culture that continues to inspire audiences around the world.
Steel Pulse: Carrying the Message Forward
For the Rastafari JAMS family, it begins with Steel Pulse.
For nearly five decades, Steel Pulse has remained one of reggae music’s most respected and influential bands, using their music to speak on justice, African consciousness, human rights, and the teachings of Rastafari. Songs like Handsworth Revolution, Rally Round, Your House, and countless others have made Steel Pulse far more than entertainers—they have become ambassadors for roots reggae around the globe.
Led by David Hinds, the band continues to demonstrate that reggae music is not simply entertainment. It is education. It is culture. It is history. It is a movement.
Experiencing Steel Pulse live is an opportunity to witness one of reggae’s living legends continue the work they’ve carried for generations.
Common Kings Continue Their Rise
Joining Steel Pulse at the top of the lineup are Common Kings, one of California’s most successful contemporary reggae bands.
Originating in Orange County, Common Kings have built an international following by blending island reggae, R&B, pop, and Polynesian influences into a sound uniquely their own. What began among college friends has grown into one of the most recognizable names in modern reggae, earning them widespread acclaim and a loyal fan base throughout the United States and beyond.
Their presence alongside Steel Pulse represents the meeting of reggae’s rich legacy with its vibrant future.
More Than Headliners
The festival also features performances by Long Beach Dub Allstars and Evergreen, adding even more depth to a lineup that celebrates the diversity of today’s reggae community.
Together, these artists create a day that represents multiple generations and styles of reggae while remaining rooted in the values of community, togetherness, and positive vibrations.
More Than a Concert
At Rastafari JAMS Media Network, we’ve spent the past twelve years promoting, honoring, and preserving reggae music while celebrating African culture and heritage.
That’s why we’ve chosen to support the Rooted in Harmony Reggae Music Festival through our 60 Days of Storytelling campaign.
Rather than simply posting flyers, our goal has been to introduce supporters to the artists, highlight their contributions to reggae culture, and share the stories that make this festival meaningful. Festivals like Rooted in Harmony aren’t simply about attending another concert—they’re about bringing the reggae community together, strengthening the culture, and creating experiences that supporters will remember long after the final performance.
As this inaugural event begins what we hope becomes an annual tradition, every supporter who attends helps lay the foundation for something that can continue to grow for years to come.
